Technical Lead | .NET | Typescript/Node | AI Transformation | $200k + Super + Bonus

Job Category: .net Tech Lead
Job Type: Full Time onsite
Job Location: Australia Sydney

Sydney | Product-led Scale-Up | Real Impact, Real Ownership

Let’s be honest.

Most “Tech Lead” roles are just senior engineers with meetings.

This isn’t one of them.

This is the front door of a product used by real customers, generating real revenue, every single day.

Everything starts here.

The first impression.

The onboarding journey.

The moment a user decides to trust the platform… or leave.

And right now, that experience is evolving.

The Opportunity

You’ll take ownership of the acquisition and onboarding ecosystem. The systems that convert interest into active users.

Think:

  • Public-facing platforms
  • Sign-up and onboarding journeys
  • Identity and authentication layers
  • Conversion-critical flows tied directly to revenue

This is not feature factory work.

You’ll set direction.

Make architectural calls.

Write production code.

And be accountable for outcomes, not just output.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Define and drive the technical vision for a high-impact product area
  • Stay hands-on across the stack (.NET + TypeScript/Node)
  • Lead architecture decisions where trade-offs actually matter
  • Own performance, reliability, and security end-to-end
  • Work closely with Product and Delivery to shape what gets built (not just how)
  • Manage and mentor a small, high-calibre engineering team
  • Tackle technical debt pragmatically without slowing momentum
  • Lead incident response and drive meaningful post-mortems

Why This Role Stands Out

Most roles talk about impact.

This one is measurable:

  • Direct influence on conversion, activation, and revenue
  • High visibility across the business
  • A product that is already live, scaling, and evolving

You won’t be building in isolation.

You’ll be shaping how the business grows.

What They’re Looking For

You’re not just a strong engineer.

You’re someone who takes ownership of systems and outcomes.

  • Proven experience leading engineering teams or squads
  • Strong backend expertise with .NET in production environments
  • Confident across TypeScript / Node.js
  • Comfortable making decisions with incomplete information
  • Experience owning live systems at scale
  • Strong communicator across engineering, product, and business stakeholders
  • Commercial awareness. You understand why what you build matters

Nice to Have (But Not Deal Breakers)

  • Experience with onboarding, identity, or compliance-heavy flows
  • Familiarity with SSO / OAuth / OIDC / SAML
  • Strong front-end sensibility (UX matters here)
  • Background in product-led or growth-focused environments

The Environment

Let’s be clear.

Sydney | 5 days in the office

Because:

  • Decisions happen quickly
  • Problems get solved in real time
  • The best ideas come from being in the room

This is not a passive environment.

  • Fast-moving, product-led scale-up
  • High ownership, low bureaucracy
  • Engineers are trusted to make decisions
  • Strong focus on quality, performance, and continuous improvement

Who This Suits

This will resonate if you’ve been thinking:

  • “I want more ownership, not just tickets”
  • “I want to influence product direction, not just delivery”
  • “I want to build things that actually move the needle”
