Around 40,000 active users today, and scaling meaningfully from here. They are deep into an AI led transformation, rethinking how their platform behaves, how users interact, and how fast they ship. No fluff. No layers. Smart people building meaningful product at pace.
🎯 The Role
You own the entire mobile experience.
Not a feature. Not a module. The whole thing.
From architecture, to performance, to the feel of every interaction in a user’s hand. You will set direction. You will make the hard calls. You will raise the bar across the team. When customers open the app every day, every tap, every delay, every moment sits with you.
🛠️ What You Will Be Doing
You will live in React Native and Expo, but this goes far beyond shipping screens. You will:
- Own the architecture, performance, and quality of the mobile application
- Define mobile engineering standards across the team
- Partner closely with Product and UX to create truly native feeling experiences
- Drive performance across real world conditions, including low bandwidth, older devices, and high usage
- Own the full release lifecycle across iOS and Android, including App Store, Google Play, Expo EAS, and OTA updates
- Establish patterns, tooling, and ways of working others follow
- Mentor and elevate engineers through leadership and example
🧠 What Matters
This is a role for someone who genuinely cares about mobile craft. You understand the difference between something that works and something that feels exceptional. You likely:
- Have deep commercial experience with React Native and Expo
- Understand the rendering pipeline, JS thread, and bridge behaviour
- Know how to diagnose and resolve real performance issues
- Have shipped production apps across iOS and Android
- Have owned the full lifecycle, from build to release to iteration
- Build with accessibility and usability as standard
- Think in systems, not just features
