5. Email marketing and EDMs
We send electronic direct mail (“EDMs”) in accordance with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). This includes job alerts, market updates, newsletters and communications relevant to your role as a candidate or client.
You will only receive EDMs from us where:
- You have given us your express consent (for example, by subscribing or registering with us); or
- You have an existing business relationship with us where the communication is reasonably expected.
Every EDM we send identifies Big Wave Digital as the sender, includes our contact details and provides a functional unsubscribe link. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us at info@bigwavedigital.com.au. We will action unsubscribe requests promptly.
We do not sell, rent or trade our email lists with any third party.
6. Who we disclose personal information to
We may disclose your personal information to:
- Prospective employers (clients) for the purpose of presenting you for a role, with your consent
- Referees you have nominated, to verify references
- Background, identity, police and credit-check providers, with your consent
- Our IT, CRM, email marketing, hosting and professional service providers, who are bound by confidentiality obligations
- Government, regulatory or law enforcement bodies where required or authorised by law
We will not disclose your personal information to any other party without your consent, unless required by law.
7. Storage and overseas disclosure
Personal information collected by Big Wave Digital is stored in Australia. We do not disclose personal information to overseas recipients.
If this position changes in future (for example, if we engage an overseas service provider), we will update this Privacy Policy and take reasonable steps to ensure any overseas recipient handles your information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles.
