A fast-moving, dynamic fintech scale-up is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to own the systems that bring customers in and get them live. This is the front door to the product — the public website, onboarding, identity and sign-up flows — where everything you ship has a direct line to growth, revenue and the first impression every customer has of the business.
If you like working across the full stack, owning features end-to-end, and caring about how things actually perform for real users, this one is for you.
About the role
You’ll work across the full stack on the customer-facing platforms that power sign-up, onboarding, identity and activation — delivering secure, scalable, high-performing digital experiences. It’s a high-stakes, customer-facing surface where performance, reliability and experience quality all matter.
Working alongside the Engineering Manager, Product Owner, UX Designer and fellow engineers, you’ll:
- Build and maintain features across the customer-facing product surface — website, onboarding flows, SSO and sign-up promotions
- Work across the stack — backend APIs and services in .NET, plus frontend product work in React / TypeScript
- Contribute to architectural decisions and technical direction within the squad
- Write code that is readable, testable and built to last — and hold that bar in code reviews
- Take ownership of features end-to-end, from shaping the solution through to production and beyond
- Care about frontend quality — performance, accessibility, SEO and the experience details that move conversion
- Build and maintain multi-region, multi-lingual experiences (i18n, l10n and the infrastructure behind them)
- Spot and fix performance, reliability and quality issues proactively

Big Wave Digital — connecting great people with great tech teams
What we’re looking for
- Strong full-stack capability — solid .NET backend experience and comfortable building frontend product work in React / TypeScript
- Headless CMS experience — content-driven architectures and the patterns that keep them fast and maintainable
- Multi-region / multi-lingual development — i18n, l10n, routing strategies and the complexity that comes with them
- SEO fundamentals at depth — technical SEO, structured data, crawlability and Core Web Vitals as a ranking factor
- A track record of shipping quality software in a product environment with real users
- Genuine ownership — you care about what happens after the code merges
- Good engineering instincts — edge cases, failure modes and maintainability as a matter of course
- Enough frontend sensibility to care about conversion, performance and experience quality, not just functional correctness
- Collaborative and commercially curious — you get that what you build directly drives customer acquisition and growth
- Comfortable with fast-moving priorities and evolving context
Nice to have
- Experience with onboarding, identity verification or KYC flows
- Familiarity with SSO protocols — OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML
- Strong frontend depth — Lighthouse scores, accessibility, cross-device performance
- Background in fintech, e-commerce or other high-conversion consumer products
The offer
- $160,000 base + superannuation + bonus
- A senior role with real ownership on a high-impact, customer-facing product surface
- A fast-moving, dynamic fintech scale-up with genuine momentum
- Sydney CBD — 5 days a week onsite, working shoulder-to-shoulder with a sharp, collaborative team
