Remote Contract Role | Big Wave Digital Recruitment and seav.ai
Rate to be determined, plus a performance bonus for successful tender, grant or award wins.
Big Wave Digital is looking for an experienced Strategic Grant, Tender and Awards Writer to help us identify, prepare and write high quality submissions across two connected but distinct businesses.
This is a remote contract role. Big Wave Digital is based in Sydney, but you can work from anywhere in Australia, provided you have extensive experience in tender writing, grant submissions, award entries and commercially focused business writing.
Two Brands. One Strategic Writer.
You will be writing across:
- Big Wave Digital Recruitment. A long established Australian digital, technology, AI, data, product, engineering and marketing recruitment business.
- seav.ai. A new AI start up building technology to help job seekers create stronger resumes, improve career outcomes and use AI more effectively in the job market.
We are looking for someone who can take business experience, founder vision, technical ideas and commercial opportunity, then turn it all into clear, persuasive and professional submissions.
This could include government grants, business funding programs, recruitment tenders, supplier panel applications, innovation grants, AI related funding opportunities, start up programs, technology awards, recruitment industry awards and business recognition submissions.

About Big Wave Digital
Big Wave Digital is a specialist recruitment agency based in Sydney, working across digital, technology, AI, data, product, engineering, marketing and business transformation.
Since 2010, we have partnered with high growth technology companies, fintechs, SaaS businesses, founder led scale ups, digital agencies and established organisations going through major transformation.
We recruit across software engineering, data, AI, product, UX, digital marketing, cloud, infrastructure, platform engineering, technical leadership and executive technology appointments.
Big Wave Digital has spent more than 16 years inside the Australian tech and digital employment market. We understand how companies hire, how candidates move, how technology changes industries and how AI is now reshaping the future of work.
We now want to capture that experience properly in written submissions that help us access new opportunities, win relevant tenders, apply for grants and position the business for industry recognition.

About seav.ai
seav.ai is a new AI start up being developed alongside Big Wave Digital.
The goal of seav.ai is to help job seekers, candidates, recruiters and businesses use AI more effectively in the employment market.
At its core, seav.ai is being built to help people create better resumes, improve job applications, better understand their skills and present themselves more effectively to employers.
The broader vision is to build AI powered tools that support candidate matching, resume optimisation, job application workflows, career development and smarter recruitment outcomes.
This is not just another resume tool. seav.ai is being built from real world recruitment experience, based on thousands of conversations with candidates, hiring managers, founders, CEOs, CTOs and digital leaders.
We believe the next phase of recruitment will be shaped by AI, automation, better candidate data, smarter workflows and more human centred career tools. seav.ai sits right at that intersection.
The Role
This role will suit a highly experienced tender, grant and awards writer who understands how to write persuasive, evidence based submissions that are easy for decision makers, assessors and judges to understand.
You will work directly with the founder of Big Wave Digital and seav.ai to identify, prepare and write strong applications across tenders, grants, awards and funding opportunities.
You will need to understand both the established recruitment business and the emerging AI start up, then tailor the message depending on the opportunity.
Some submissions will be highly commercial. Others may be focused on innovation, employment, AI, technology, small business, digital transformation, workforce participation, skills, start up growth or future of work initiatives.

This could suit someone looking for project based work, freelance work, a part time contract or an ongoing monthly arrangement. The key thing is that you have real experience and can deliver high quality submissions that give us the best possible chance of success.
Location
Remote role. Big Wave Digital is based in Sydney, but location is flexible. You can work from anywhere in Australia, provided you are experienced, reliable and able to communicate clearly.
About You
You are a strong commercial writer who knows how to make a business sound credible, compelling and differentiated.
You can take messy founder ideas and create structure. You know how to read criteria properly and answer what is actually being asked. You understand that a good submission needs to be persuasive, specific, evidence based and easy to assess.
You are comfortable working across an established recruitment brand and an early stage AI start up. You can move between commercial writing, innovation language, founder story, product vision and practical business capability.
