Ability to never give up – in this market just plonking an advert on a Job Site very rarely cuts it, so you need to creative and iterate how you engage with potential candidates.
The Ancient Art of HeadHunting seems to be working for all of us. Creativity in Job writing, use of imagery on a job advert to evoke an emotional response.
Always raise the bar of what internal and external success looks like.
TAKE VERY few sick days, yes seriously, A PLAYERS very very rarely take time off work for being sick, their internal drive is hard wired to want to work. In one weird way, unless you are obsessed with what you do it’s hard to over-achieve. Not just in recruitment but in any walk of life, look at Artists, Poets, Sports Stars, Teachers, Coders etc , to be great you need to go into the FLOW.
Love what you do and genuinely care about your output as a function of your efforts.
Competitive drive and spirit – say no more , look at how our super-star Digital Marketing recruiter Keiran is back working WAY WAY before most people would be – WHY because she loves winning.
Winning becomes a habit.
Anyway, recruitment is still challenging but to be good at it, or even great at it I see all of the above Traits as Must HAVES.
