My client is looking for an AI Search & Discovery Specialist to define how their brand is discovered in a rapidly evolving search landscape.
Search is no longer just Google. Discovery now happens in ChatGPT, Perplexity, TikTok, Instagram and emerging AI platforms. This role is about owning that shift and ensuring the business remains highly visible wherever creative intent begins.
Reporting directly to the founder, this is a high-impact, commercially accountable role.
The Mission
To protect and grow organic visibility as search behaviour evolves.
The successful candidate will:
- Lead AI visibility strategy across generative search platforms
- Strengthen technical SEO foundations
- Expand discovery across TikTok and Instagram search
- Maintain and improve strong Google performance
- Tie organic visibility directly to bookings and revenue
This is not a maintenance SEO role. It is about defining the next chapter of search for the business.
Current Position
The foundations are strong:
- Established traditional SEO performance
- Mature use of Ahrefs and GA4
- An experienced in-house SEO content team
- Early-stage AI visibility tracking
- A responsive engineering team capable of executing quickly
This role is about evolution and leadership, not rebuilding from scratch.
Key Responsibilities
AI & Generative Search Leadership
- Increase brand citation across AI platforms
- Develop and test new discovery strategies beyond Google
- Stay ahead of US-led search changes and translate insights into action
AI leadership is the priority.
Technical Search Strength
- Review and improve schema, crawl health and structural architecture
- Identify authority and linking opportunities
- Collaborate closely with engineering to implement improvements
- Contribute technically, not just strategically
Strong technical SEO capability is essential.
Commercial Accountability
- Identify organic growth opportunities
- Strengthen attribution between discovery and bookings
- Refine measurement frameworks
- Deliver meaningful year-on-year organic growth
This is a performance-driven role with clear commercial expectations.
The Ideal Profile
My client is seeking someone who:
- Has 5+ years’ experience in SEO or search strategy
- Is technically confident reviewing search architecture
- Is fluent in GA4 and Ahrefs
- Understands AI and generative search dynamics
- Is proactive, experimental and commercially sharp
- Can collaborate effectively with remote engineering teams
This role is not suited to someone who is:
- Purely theoretical about AI
- Focused only on traditional Google SEO
- Passive in approach
Location
Sydney, US East Coast or UK preferred. Remote candidates considered. Occasional travel to the office may be required.
