The Mission
Our client is a fast-growing Sydney business at a real inflection point. They’re consolidating their SaaS stack, rolling out SSO across the board, tightening up identity and access management, and turning a sprawl of “we’ll fix it later” into a clean, well-governed platform. They need a senior systems engineer who can own this end-to-end.
You’ll be the person who walks in on Monday, sees three apps still on local accounts, and by Friday they’re behind Okta with proper group-based access. You’ll lead the SaaS migration program, harden the identity layer, and build the kind of platform foundation that the rest of the business doesn’t even notice, because it just works.
What You’ll Actually Be Doing
- Owning the identity stack end-to-end: Okta (or Entra ID), SAML, SCIM provisioning, conditional access, MFA policies
- Running SSO integrations across a growing SaaS portfolio, including the awkward apps that don’t want to play nice
- Driving the SaaS consolidation program: rationalising tools, decommissioning legacy, migrating data, owning the rollout
- Building automation around joiner/mover/leaver workflows so HR changes flow cleanly into access changes
- Partnering with security on access reviews, audit readiness, and least-privilege enforcement
- Acting as the senior escalation point for platform issues, mentoring junior engineers, and setting the technical bar
Who We’re Looking For
- 5+ years in systems engineering, IT engineering, or platform engineering roles
- Deep hands-on Okta experience (or Entra ID at scale), including SAML, SCIM, OIDC, and lifecycle management
- Track record running SaaS migrations and consolidation programs, not just maintenance
- Strong scripting and automation chops, PowerShell, Python, or similar, you don’t click through admin UIs when you can script it
- Comfortable owning identity, access, and SaaS as your domain end-to-end
- The judgement to know when to lock something down and when to let it breathe

- $185k base + super + bonus
- Sydney CBD office, 5 days a week (this is a hands-on, in-the-room role)
